Thiruvananthapuram: The Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI) successfully organised its Summer Fest camp in Thiruvananthapuram as part of its state-wide initiative under the theme "Let's Make Our Children Good Human Beings. "

Held at the Nemmam Muslim Jamaat Community Hall, the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students ranging from the 8th standard to higher secondary (+2). The event was inaugurated by Karamana Juma Masjid's Chief Imam, Aminuddin Baqavi, who emphasised the importance of nurturing values and character in young minds.

The camp was presided over by Muhammad Arafat, CIGI Thiruvananthapuram District Secretary, and featured engaging sessions led by CIGI Trainer Anshad Athirampuzha.

The inaugural session was graced by the presence of several local leaders and CIGI representatives, including Nemmam Muslim Jamaat President Ashrafuddin, Secretary Zulfi, and District Committee members Sajad Ansari, Ajeem Shah, Shafiq JS, Shafiq Paruthikkuzhi, and Nizam Salim Vizhinjam, who offered their felicitations and shared words of encouragement.

Kozhikode:The Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI) has launched a three-day residential camp under the C-Idea Project, aimed at guiding students in their pursuit of higher education and global academic opportunities.

The camp, held at the CIGI Campus, Kozhikode on April 20, 21, and 22, offers students intensive orientation sessions on various higher education pathways, career fields, and institutions of international standards.

Expert-led sessions are being conducted by Rrsearch Scholar Badusha and  Farseen Ali is an official in charge of migration with 'Medicines Sans Frontiers' in Oslo, along with Dr. Shafi, Professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT). Additionally, CIGI Secretary Kabir P and Competency Department Director Hussain P.A. will lead key sessions during the camp.

This initiative reflects CIGI's commitment to empowering students through informed decision-making and access to global academic resources.

Malappuram: The much-anticipated Summer Fest 2025, a three-day residential camp organized by the Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI), commenced in Malappuram, echoing the statewide theme — "Let's Make Our Children Good Human Beings."

The Malappuram district camp, titled ‘Alpha Mate’, was inaugurated by Mr. Majeed, former President of the CIGI Malappuram District Chapter. Hajara Haider, President of the CIGI Malappuram Women’s Collective, delivered the felicitation address, encouraging active participation from students and volunteers.

Targeted at high school students, the camp is being held at the IGP Training Center, Pathiriyal, Malappuram on April 16, 17, and 18. The event is presided over by T. Jamaluddin Mash, the current CIGI Malappuram District President.

The camp features an array of interactive and inspirational sessions led by CIGI’s expert trainers including Dr. Jayafarali Alicheyant, Sulfat, Fayaz Habib, Femina, Sajjana, Taslima Banu, Sabita, and Mujeeb Valanchery. Malappuram: The CIGI Career Stall at Madhyamam EduCafe’s education fair held at the Rose Lounge Auditorium became a center of attraction on its opening day, drawing a remarkable response from both students and parents.

A total of 220 students and more than 400 parents took advantage of the free career counseling services offered by CIGI, reflecting the strong trust in CIGI’s expertise in guiding young minds towards the right academic and career paths.

The counseling sessions were led by an expert team of CG career guides including Mujeeb Rahman, Adv. Shanawas Khan, Lukman K.P., Majeed K.C., Faisal Rumi, Saidalavi, Muhammad Rafi, Basheer, Zubair Konikal, and Jafar Sadiq. Their dedication and in-depth guidance helped address the doubts and aspirations of hundreds of participants.

Kozhikode: The district-level camps of CIGI Summer Fest 2025 have officially begun in Kozhikode under the inspiring theme “Let’s Make Our Children Good Human Beings.”

The camp held at the CIGI Campus in Chevayur was inaugurated by renowned film actor and director Siddique Kodiyathoor, who emphasized the importance of shaping a generation grounded in values and social responsibility.

CIGI Kozhikode District President Salam Omassery presided over the function. Key addresses were delivered by District Secretary Anwar Koduvalli, District HR Director Faisal Narikkuni, and TNC Section Camp Director Shabira P. T., who outlined the objectives of the three-day camp.

The camp, which is specifically organized for high school students, features a variety of engaging sessions and activities. Leading the classes are a distinguished panel including Ajmal Vadakara, Sharif Master, Mehrunnisa Teacher, Basheer Wahabi, Bushra, and Sherina Teacher.

Kottayam: The state-level inauguration of Summer Fest 2025, a three-day Residential camp organized by the Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI), was held with great enthusiasm at Oshana Mount, Pala. Themed “Let’s Make Our Children Good Human Beings,” the camp is being held simultaneously across all districts in Kerala.

Poonjar MLA Adv. Sebastian Kulathungal formally inaugurated the event, while acclaimed writer and scriptwriter Shri. Benyamin graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The inaugural function was presided over by CIGI Cluster 3 Chairman Prof. Rasheed M. M. The objectives and vision of the camp were explained by TNC Department Director Shahid Elateil, emphasizing the importance of value-based education for today’s youth.

CIGI Differential Aptitude Test (C-DAT) is one of the most successful and sensational inventions by our Faculty of Research and Analysis. Came into being in 2008 after running standardisation tests in over 4000 students comprising both high school and higher secondary,  it soon developed to become one of the best of its kind in the country.

CIGI Differential Aptitude Test is a perfectly organised systematic series of tests where items of the test tool were analysed under the Item Response Model framework to establish item properties. The standardisation process was supported by Parisons Group, Calicut. Our experience over the years has proved that CDAT is the right tool to identify the basic inherent capacity of high school and higher secondary students.

In 2020, amidst the pandemic, we were able to successfully transform the CDAT process into a completely online model. The uniqueness of C-DAT Online is that it is not an automated test, our counsellors stay with the students throughout the test. The results are then elaborated to the students and parents through personal counselling. This whole process can be completed sitting in the comfort of your homes. The candidates may also visit CIGI Campus at Kozhikode for an in-person CDAT counselling experience.

WHAT IS A CENTRE FOR COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT

Centre for Competency Development is an innovative project established as a part of celebrating CIGI's  two decades of meaningful intervention in empowering the weaker segments of society. In 2016 CIGI took the initiative to set up 100 Centres for Competency Development (Mission 100C4C) at grassroots level in various parts of the state. The idea of Mission 100C4C is an end result of deliberations and constant dialogues among think tanks of CIGI on lack of competence in students and job seekers from all streams who are pursuing their higher studies or looking for a job.

The project was built on a belief that the accomplishment of this mission would provide a solution for this affecting condition and lead to a massive transformation in the current occupational and educational state of the community.  By 2019, CIGI successfully completed this mission of implementing 100 centres and the project is still continuing through various activities for developing competence among the community.  

 A Centre for Competition instituted under C4C is basically an independent centre accredited to and monitored by CIGI and is envisioned to enhance the competency of students, nurture their talent, develop their skills, and direct them in their pursuit of better life and career. 

As the pandemic swept through the globe, we decided to create a novel model of competency development through ‘C-Circle’s (Competency Circles’. The C-Cirlce’s are WhatsApp based online groups through which regular aspirants are prepared to face competitive examinations. This is done through regular updates of study materials and daily, week and monthly tests.

Started in 2020, our mission was, ‘1000 C-Circles’ , which was accomplished in a short span of time with people from across the state joining this initiative.

CENTRE FOR COMPETITIONS (C4C Centres)

WHO CAN ACCREDIT AS A CENTRE FOR COMPETITIONS?

 Any local chapter of CIGI, Colleges, Schools, Orphanages, Panchayats, NGO’s or any similar institutes can apply to get accredited as a Centre for Competition under the project, Competency Movement.  Interested institutes/organisations have to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CIGI to operate the centre. The project works with the objective to examine the academic personal and career excellence of young aspirants aiming at ensuring general competency development of those with qualification of 10th or above.  Any institutions that meet the requirements mentioned below are eligible to accredit as a Centre for Competitions under the project:

1. An office space (preferably with internet connection)
2. Class Rooms/ Training Hall (preferably with Audio Visual Equipments
3. Co-ordinator (Full time/Part Time)
4. Committee to supervise the centre

Career counselling is a part of behavioural science. It is the process of helping the candidates to select a course of study that may help them to get into a solid profession. A career counsellor helps the candidates to get into the career that is best suited to their aptitude, personality, interest and skills. So it is the process of making an effective correlation between the internal psychology of a candidate with the external factors of employability and courses.

 This discipline is intended to help our younger generation to cope up with ups and downs of life in such a way that they attain positive mental health, self sufficiency, productivity, efficiency, and also create their own position in the world of work. The course contains principles, concepts, and theories of social importance for career development. It also nurtures practical insight about guiding the younger generation towards the pursuits of excellence.

Since 2020, an online version of the course is also available. Run through CIGI Learning Management System (LMS), this allows students from across the globe to access this course.

What is it about?

 No child should be denied the equality in education and the opportunities it provides, because of factors far beyond their control. Our constitution ensures equality in all areas to all law abiding citizens, education being the most important of all. There are students who face problems in learning and they are not equally accepted most of the time. They are mistreated in the classrooms and their problems are left unsolved. It is clear that just as there are ramps built at strategic locations for the benefit of the physically handicapped, invisible ramps of support should be provided for the learning disabled to overcome their invisible handicap.

Studies show that every classroom is likely to have two or three children with learning disabilities. Moreover, many of these special children are likely to have more than one learning disability (LD). The most common learning disabilities in classrooms are dyslexia (the inability to read or interpret lessons and symbols), autism (a neurological disorder in which the child has poor social skills) and attention-deficit hyperactive disorder. CIGI is here to provide support and help to the students in need. Our Learning Clinic established in 2015 is designed exclusively for children with learning disabilities.

Significance of the Project:

 In India, the LD movement is nascent with schools and education boards having made concessions for LD students less than a decade back. Popular Indian schools, even those in well developed cities such as Mumbai, still lack adequate special teachers to handle such children in classrooms. Experts working in the field also complain that the idea of inclusion - including children with LD in classrooms with other children who don't have LD - isn't being implemented in its true spirit. LD children still lose out, especially when they enter the critical Grade IX. According to directives to promote all children to the next class till Grade VIII, most children with LD manage to reach higher classes. But many of them are asked to leave the school in Grade IX due to poor scholastic performance. Thus clinical support for children with LD has become a necessity. But the clinics proving LD care are very few to count. CIGI makes sure no student is left unnoticed or unguided as we are here with solutions to all such problems helping you to identify and solve the disabilities as well as  provide with proper guidance.

Number of failed marriages is increasing day by day. What could be the possible reasons for unhappy marriages and increasing divorces? There can be many. The students who fail in public examination are reported with the onset of any unnoticed cognitive, behavioural or learning disorders. Either the disorders or the environment in which they were brought up lead to the failures. We believe that those students who fail in 10th exams are not the ones who are innately unable to pass the examination; rather it is a result of negligence in identifying their learning disorders at an early stage.

CIGI has set up a Learning Clinic and its main focal area is to help the children with difficulties in learning. We have a good resource pool containing clinical psychologists, counsellors, special educators, trainers etc. The project is a remedial learning process headed and executed by specialists in learning.

What is C-iDea?

C-iDea (Integrated Development for Excellence in Academics) is the novel initiative by CIGI-C4C.  Aim of this project is to identify talented students from the upper primary level amongst the marginalised segment and mould, develop and empower them to get admission in premier institutions like AIIMS, IIT, IIM, and Central Universities; and thus better equipping them to be partners in nation building. There are many students in the lower strata of society who are forced to give up their dreams owing to their financial condition. CIGI is here to support students with dreams and aspirations . This project is specifically designed to stimulate motivational enzymes in the students especially from the impoverished community to discover life skills that helps them blossom into secure and confident careers and in a way grooms the students to take up leadership positions.

Why C-iDea?

C-iDea project focuses on empowerment and up-gradation in the educational sector with a hope to  create a new generation of enlightened graduates from prestigious institutions of different disciplines. Currently, Kerala is lagging behind other states in the percentage of students who get enrolled in premium institutions/ institutes of national importance. The project C-iDea helps students to reach their  ambition through improving the quality of education by creating a platform and thus help in bringing out the natural potential in them. C-iDea gives special attention to students, thus helping to bring out the best in them.

How is it done?

The selection process of the students will be on the basis of the CIGI talent search examination followed by training and counselling. For the first year the examination was conducted mainly in four districts of Northern Kerala, such as Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Malappuram. Through this process, 2 Centres will be formed in each district with 40 students in each of them. The first batch of the C-iDea project comprises 320 students.

What is Project Infinity?

Project Infinity is an initiation from the part of CIGI with an intention to instil scientific interests in school children as a means to inspire and guide them to pursue a profession in science education and research. We envision the creation of more scientists like our founder Dr. KM Abubacker, who was a senior scientist at BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), serving our nation remarkably all through his life.
