ABOUT Dr. K.M ABOOBACKER
Dr. K.M. Aboobacker was deeply concerned about the lack of guidance for students seeking higher education in Kerala, especially in rural areas. His personal experiences underscored this need. In 1996, he united with like-minded educationists, intellectuals, and social leaders to address this issue. Their efforts led to the creation of the Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI), of which Dr Aboobacker was the founder and longest-serving President who steered the organisation to great heights in its formative stage. THE AWARD
The Dr. K.M. Aboobacker CIGI Education Award given by CIGI in honor of its founder and longest-serving President, recognizes an individual or organization that has done outstanding work in the fields of education, employment, and career, with a focus on secularism, social justice, and humanity. Preference is given to those working for the welfare of marginalized and backward classes.
OBJECTIVE

To make the award a befitting memorial for Dr. K.M. Aboobacker and to popularize the legacy that he left behind.

To recognize an individual, a team, or an organization for their outstanding contribution to Education, Employment, and Career Empowerment and for their resolve to develop an idea or grow their initiative further.

The Dr. K.M Aboobacker CIGI Education Award is not a grant scheme aimed at supporting new projects or organizations. It is aimed at recognizing the accomplishment of an individual, team, or organization in education, employment, and career empowerment and their potential in shaping the future of the focused group.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
- Individuals, institutions and organizations are eligible to receive the award.
- The awardees must be Indian citizens, and the institution / organization should be registered in India.
- Anyone who is in the membership role of CIGI or working as staff, functionary is not eligible for receiving the award.
