The Institute has introduced a new programme, MSc. in Economics and MSc. in Cognitive Science (two- year Full time), at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences from July 2020. The duration of the MSc programme is 4 semesters (24 months).

Eligibility: Any Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, including Bachelor Degrees from universities/institutes located outside India, subject to the guidelines for admission of foreign students as laid forth by the statute of IIT Delhi. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. 

Selection: The admission to M.Sc. in Cognitive Science will be through a central national-level Joint Admission Test in Cognitive Science (COGJET). The candidates with a valid COGJET or other exams like GATE/NET/etc. (above a certain cut-off) will be invited to appear before an interview panel. The admission to M.Sc. in Economics will be through an entrance test to be conducted by the Institute. The written entrance test will be held on a date to be decided later. 

Candidates belonging to General/OBC/EWS category are required to pay for each application form a fee of Rs. 200/- and the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories are required to pay Rs. 50/-.
