CIGI Community Development Center is to be inaugurated in Meppadi by MLA Adv. T. Siddique

Kalpetta: With a vision to uplift economically and socially marginalized communities, the Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI), in collaboration with the Jeddah Business Initiative Group (BIG), is set to launch its Community Development Center (CDC) in Meppadi, Wayanad. The announcement was made during a press conference held by CIGI and BIG officials.
The inauguration ceremony of the CDC will take place on May 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Akshara Library Hall, Meppadi. The event will be inaugurated by Kalpetta MLA Adv. T. Siddique, while District Panchayat President Samshad Marakkar will officially release the project document.
As part of the ceremony, Meppadi Grama Panchayat President K. Babu will unveil the CDC logo. Other dignitaries attending include District Panchayat Vice President S. Bindu, Moopainad Panchayat President Unnikrishnan, CIGI Executive Committee Member A.P. Nizam, CDC Project Director K. Muhammad Shah, CIGI District President Dr. Bava K. Palukunnu, Muhammad Ali Ovingal, P.T. Ashraf, along with representatives from various social, political, and voluntary organizations.
The Community Development Center aims to provide services in employment training, entrepreneurship development, higher education guidance, financial literacy, and health awareness, with a focus on improving the quality of life for daily wage workers, low-income families, women, and persons with disabilities. The CDC will collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, educational institutions, and public sector entities to ensure effective implementation of its programs.
The press conference was attended by CDC Program Coordinator Sufaid Kodakkal, CIGI District President Dr. Bava K. Palukunnu, S. Ummer Master, and Majeed Teneri.
