Some individuals may have already set their sights on becoming doctors or pursuing technical fields. However, there are also those who consider repeating a year without any specific aspirations.
Have you ever considered pursuing a career in research? Apart from medical engineering and other technical fields, there's a question about whether India provides enough opportunities for kids interested in delving deeper into various branches of science and conducting further research.
Here's the answer:
In India, there are 7 Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) institutions, including one in Thiruvananthapuram, overseen by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD). These institutes aim to guide the new generation towards scientific research. The other IISERs are located in Pune, Tirupati, Mohali, Kolkata, Berhampur, and Bhopal.
Admissions for the academic year 2024 into the five-year BS-MS dual degree programs, commencing in August, have been announced. Additionally, IISER Bhopal offers BS courses in Engineering Science and Economic Science, with admission based on the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). Applicants must have passed their class XII or equivalent examination in the years 2022, 2023, or 2024.
The IAT 2024 score is applicable for admission to the BS-MS program at the 7 IISERs, as well as for admission to Bachelor of Science (Research) courses at IISc Bangalore and Bachelor of Science (Medical Science and Engineering) at IIT Madras.
Unlike traditional degree programs, these courses utilize an experimental, research-based learning approach. IISERs provide a valuable option for those preparing for medical and engineering entrance exams.
