The deadline for submitting applications for admission to professional courses in Kerala (KEAM 2023) is April 10th at 5 pm. Can one secure admission to MBBS in Kerala via the ESIC-IP quota?
Absolutely! Government Medical College Paripally (Kollam) offers 38 seats under the ESIC-IP quota. To be eligible for this quota, candidates must have qualified for NEET UG 2023 and obtained a ward of IP certificate. Candidates will need to participate in the MCC counselling and select this option during the counselling process.
Will plus two marks be considered for engineering admissions?
Certainly, plus two marks will be taken into account for engineering admissions. The engineering rank list is formulated by allocating 50% weightage to the marks obtained in the engineering entrance examination and 50% to the marks obtained in physics, chemistry, and mathematics subjects in the second year of plus two examinations, as per the provisions mentioned in the prospectus.
Am a student who completed plus two last year and i cannot upload plustwo mark list for the engineering rank list?
The KEAM application does not require the uploading of plus two marks. After the entrance exam scores are published, the Commissioner of Entrance will notify the qualified candidates to upload their plus two marks online.
Do I need to study biology to pursue B.Pharm?
No, it is not mandatory to have a biology background for admission to B.Pharm. To be eligible for B.Pharm admission, candidates must appear for the first paper of the engineering entrance examination which covers Physics and Chemistry. The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations will prepare a special rank list based on the marks secured in the examination and conduct the allotment. While submitting the KEAM application, make sure to select the pharmacy stream as an option.
If a student has a non-creamy layer certificate for NEET UG exam and, Do they need to buy a separate non-creamy layer certificate to apply for the KEAM?
Yes, they must obtain a separate non-creamy layer certificate for educational purposes in Kerala from their local village office. This certificate must be uploaded along with the KEAM application. It is important to note that the non-creamy layer certificate for central educational purposes uploaded for NEET will not be considered valid for KEAM.
Is it possible to choose the preferred exam centre while applying for KEAM if someone is interested in pursuing medical courses?
For admission to medical and medical allied courses, the Entrance Commissioner does not conduct the entrance exam. Rather, students have to appear for the NEET UG 2023 exam. The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations will conduct the allotment process based on the rank secured in the NEET UG exam.
Do students need to take the engineering entrance exam to pursue admission in B.Arch (Architecture)?
No, it is not necessary to take the engineering entrance exam for admission to B.Arch. The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations prepares the rank list by considering the score obtained in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) 2023 examination held nationwide and the total marks secured in Plus Two, giving equal weightage to both.
In case I am unable to secure admission in a medical course, and I am interested in pursuing engineering, do I need to submit separate applications for each?
No, you don't have to submit separate applications. You can apply for both engineering and medical-related courses through a single application to the Kerala Entrance Commissioner. While filling out the application, you will have the option to choose from different courses, including engineering, pharmacy, architecture, and medical courses.
I forgot to write down the application number during the keam application submission. How do I get the number?
If you forgot your application number after submitting the KEAM application, you can retrieve it by entering your name, date of birth, and registered mobile number in the "Forgot Application Number" link on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in. The application number will be sent to your mobile phone as a message.
Is there a minimum marks requirement to make it to the engineering rank list?
Yes, you have to get 10 marks each in both the papers. Scheduled Castes should have answered at least one question in each paper.
I heard that this time the option has to pay the registration fee. How much do you have to pay?
As of now, only the KEAM application fee needs to be paid, and there is no information available regarding the fee for option registration. The amount paid for the application fee will be refunded to those who do not secure admission.
In the KEAM application, it is specifically asked whether you have studied Sanskrit for Plus Two.Is there any preference for it?
Yes. While preparing the rank list for BAMS (Ayurveda) admissions, those who have studied Sanskrit as a second language will be added an additional 8 marks to neet UG marks.
If a class one officer uploads a Muslim minority certificate, will it have any impact on their son's medical admission even though it does not fall under the non-creamy layer category?
Yes. If a minority certificate is issued, the son will get reservation in 35% of the seats in Muslim minority self-financing medical colleges.
Is there a reservation for daughter who has completed BSc Nursing for MBBS admission?
One MBBS seat is reserved for nurses in the state government service. However, there are separate seats for MBBS for those who have completed BAMS and BHMS courses.
My parents belong to different communities.My father is From Nair community and mother is Ezhava. Am I eligible for backward reservation?
Yes, If one of the parents belongs to a backward caste, then he is entitled to reservation. Do not forget to upload the non-creamy layer certificate received from the village office.
Since my house is more than 1000 square feet, I did not get an EWS certificate from the tehsildar. Is there a possibility that I, who live in the panchayat limits, will get an EWS certificate from the village office for admission through KEAM?
It's possible. While applying for KEAM, an EWS certificate for educational purposes in Kerala is required.
Belonging to general category, having an annual income of less than Rs 4 lakh, holding less than two and a half acres of land in total, and residing in panchayat limits ,Applicants will get a certificate.
