    Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination

    A Combined Medical Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for recruitment to the services and posts, it will be on the16th January, 2011

Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways. 2.Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service. 3.Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services. 4.Medical Officers in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. 5.General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council.

    Age Limit : (a) A candidate for this examination must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st January, 2011, i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1979.
    (b) The upper age limit is relaxable as follows.
    (i) Upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
    (ii) Upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.
    (iii) Upto a maximum of ten years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped candidates.

    Educational Qualification : For admission to the examination a candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.A candidate who has appeared or has yet to appear at the final M.B.B.S. Examination may also apply.A candidate who has yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship is educationally eligible for admission to the examination but on selec ion he will be appointed only after he has completed the compulsory rotating internship.

    Physical and Medical Standards: Candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical/medical standards for the Combined Medical Services Examination 2011 as per regulations contained in Appendix III to the Rules of the Examination.

    ON LINE:Candidates can also apply Online using the link http://www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed Instructions for filling up Online Applications are available on the above mentioned website.
    The Online application can be filled upto 11th October 2010 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.

    OFFLINE: In respect of offline applications received only by post (by post/speed post). The completed offline application form must reach the Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, New Delhi 110069 on or before 11th October, 2010.

    If a candidate does not receive his admission certificate or any other communication regarding his candidature for the examination one month before the commencement of the examination, he should at once contact the Commission. On receipt of such a communication, Admission Certificate or a duplicate copy thereof will be issued to the admitted candidate. Information in this regard can also be obtained from the Facilitation Counter located in the Commissions office either in person or over phone Nos. 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543. In case no communication is received in the Commission’s office from the candidate regarding non-receipt of his admission certificate atleast 3 weeks before the examination, he himself will be solely responsible for non-receipt of his admission certificate. No candidate will ordinarily be allowed to take the examination unless he holds a certificate of admission for the examination. On the receipt of Admission certificate, candidates should check it carefully and bring discrepencies/errors if any, to the notice of UPSC immediately.

    FEEĀ  (a) Candidates applying Online (excepting Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates who are exempted from payment of fee are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty only) either by remitting the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
    (b) Candidates applying Offline (through Common Application Form) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) through a single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp. Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (NOT postage stamps) may be obtained from the post office and affixed on the application form in the space provided therein. The stamp should be got cancelled from the issuing Post Office with the date stamp of the post office in such a manner that the impression of the cancellation mark partially overflows on the application form itself but with in the space provided on the form. The impression of the cancellation stamp should be clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of date and the Post Office of issue.
