Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has invited application for the for admission to Ph.D and M.S Programmes under Regular Full-time [with/without Half-time Teaching/Research Assistantship (HTRA)] and Part-time/External in the Engineering Departments of Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical, Engineering Design, Mechanical, Metallurgical & Materials and Ocean and in the Departments of Chemistry, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management Studies, Mathematics and Physics.

Facility for doing Joint Ph.D in Engineering & Sciences offered by IIT Madras & National University of Singapore and Joint Ph.D programme offered by IIT Madras, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology, Trivandrum and Christian Medical College, Vellore in the area of Biomedical Devices and Technology are also available.

Application and Admission Brochure can be obtained in person from the Deputy Registrar (Acad.), IIT Madras, Chennai 600036 up to 25.3.2009. It can be obtained from this address by Post up by sending a request to reach there latest by 20.3.2009, enclosing a self-addressed envelope of size 26cm x 18 cm, and a Demand Draft for Rs. 250/- (Rs.125/- in the case of SC/ST/PD/Female candidates) drawn in favour of ‘IIT Madras’, payable at Chennai, with the cover super-scribed ‘Request for application for Ph.D/M.S programme’.

Application form can also be downloaded form www.iitm.ac.in and submitted as instructed. Those applying to more than one Department should submit separate application for each Department.

Candidates applying online have to send the DD along with a hard copy of the filled in application.
