    Kochi, Sept 12, 2010: All India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, will be conducted on
    1) 30-01-2011 (Online) and
    2) 13-02-2011(Offline)
    Admission to postgraduate programmes with MHRD and some other Government scholarships/assistantships in engineering colleges/institutes is open to those who qualify in GATE examination. GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture or Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications are eligible for admission to Master’s degree programmes in Engineering/Technology/Architecture as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science with MHRD or other government scholarships/assistantships. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. However, candidates with Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture may seek admission to relevant Doctoral programmes with scholarship/assistantship without appearing in the GATE examination.

    GATE is conducted through the constitution of eight zones. The zones and the corresponding administrative institutes are:

    2) Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
    3) Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master’s degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
    4) Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

    Candidates can submit application form in two different modes: Online and Offline.
    OFFLINE: Application forms can be procured from Designated Bank Branches corresponding to each zone on cash payment (General/OBC- Rs.1,000/- & SC/ST/PD -Rs.500/-) or over the counter from Zonal GATE Office after handing over Demand Draft for appropriate amount.

    The Online application fee is Rs. 800 for General/OBC Category candidates and Rs. 400 for SC/ ST/PD Category candidates which can be paid using credit or debit cards or netbanking through the payment gateway of ICICI Bank / Bill Desk / HDFC or by cash at State Bank of India or Indian Bank branches.

    Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is the first step in the process of admission to the 2 year full time Postgraduate Degree in Management offered by the IITs. Currently IIT Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee offer Programmes in Management.

    ELIGIBILITY:
    Eligibility criteria to apply for the programmes at the various IITs are given below. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria listed against the Management School/Department of each Institute can appear for the JMET examination. Students in their final year of qualifying degree course are also eligible to apply.

    INSTITUTION, PROGRAMMES, AND ELIGIBILITY:

    1. IIT Bombay- Master of Management (M. Mgt.)- Candidates with a first class Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) or first class Master’s degree in Science (as given by the Institute/University) 60% marks in aggregate. 

    2. IIT Delhi- MBA & MBA with focus on Telecommunication Systems Management- Candidates with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ Agriculture Engineering or Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computational/Information Science, Agriculture, Commerce, Economics.

    3. IIT Kanpur- MBA- Bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering with at least 60% of marks. AMIE or similar distance learning qualification is not eligible for this programme. Candidates with Architecture degree can apply provided they have taken Mathematics at 10+2 level. 

    4. IIT Kharagpur- MBA & Master of Human Resource Management- 1. first class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering /Technology or a first class Master’s degree in Science (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) or a first class Master’s degree in Economics or Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level). 2. First class bachelor’s in any branch of engineering/Technology or First class in master’s degree in Science, Commerce, or Humanities and Social Sciences.

    5. IIT Madras- MBA- B.E./ B.Tech. or equivalent with first class OR a Master’s degree in any discipline.

    6. IIT Roorkee – MBA- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline of Engineering with first class or a Master’s degree with first class.

    JMET 2011 Application Form has to be submitted ONLINE only. The application fee is Rs.350/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs. 750/- for all other candidates. ONLINE submission of application can be done by accessing the JMET 2011 website of any of the IITs or IISc. Access the JMET 2011 website and click ONLINE application submission link to register as a user. If already registered, then sign-in at the website and complete the ONLINE application form. After filling up the ONLINE application form including the uploading of your photo, signature and category certificate (if applicatble), you may proceed to make the fee payment. The application fee is Rs.350/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs. 750/- for all other candidates. The application fee is non-refundable.After submitted the ONLINE application successfully, a PDF file of your application will be generated which you may keep for your record. Do not need to send anything by post.

    EXAMINATION:
    Candidates will be required to appear in a single paper of three hours duration. The examination will be held from 10:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs on Sunday, December 12, 2010. The question paper will be in English only.

    Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a common written test for the admission to all the Post-Graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Written test is a mandatory for admission into any Post-Graduate programme offered by the institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

    REGISTER SNAP 2010?
    Online register for SNAP Test at www.snaptest.org and candidate upload a latest scanned photograph of own at the time of online registration. This will generate your SNAP ID. For different modes of payment different ‘Payment Advice’ formats are created. Choose a payment mode and print a ‘Payment Advice’ form online.Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1550/- according to the payment mode.

    PAYMENT MODE:

    THROUGH CASH: Pay cash only at an Axis Bank branch. After online SNAP 2010 registration print ‘Axis Bank Challan’ from SNAP website, this is in 3 parts. Pay Rs. 1550/- in cash at any Axis Bank branch in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the website.     Indian Army invites Applications from FEMALE candidates for admission to 4 years BSc Nursing course at College of Nursing Armed Force Medical College (AFMC),Pune and 3 ½ years Training of Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery(GNM) course at various Armed Forces Hospitals. Selected candidates shall execute an agreement/Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 5 years. On successful completion of Nursing Training, the candidates will be granted commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms and conditions laid down for grant of such commission. During training they will be provided with free ration, accommodation, uniform allowance and monthly stipend.

    Eligibility:

    1. Female candidates who are unmarried / divorcee / legally separated or widow without encumbrances.

    2. Citizen of India

    3. Age – Between 01 Aug 85 and 31 Jul 93

    4. Educational Qualification – Should have passed in the FIRST ATTEMPT the complete senior secondary (10+2)/ equivalent examination Erom a recognized Board /University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks as a regular student.Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing for final year of qualifying examination during the current academic session may also apply. Those who have passed such examinations as private students or with compartment in any subject are not eligible.

    5. Physical standards – Medical fitness will be determined as per Military Standards by Military Authorities. X-Ray examination of Chest will be done.

    Selection: Eligible applicants will be called for an objective type written test of 90 minutes duration covering General English, Biology and General Intelligence, likely to be held in Jan/Feb 2011. The parts of question paper pertaining to Biology and General Intelligence will be bilingual. Candidates as per merit on the basis of written test will be called for interview during Mar/April 2011. Final selection will be based on combined merit, subject to medical fitness.

    Medical Examination: After the interview the recommended candidates will have to appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB). Candidates declared FIT / UNFIT will be informed by the President of the Medical Board including the procedure for requesting for APPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD.

    Age Limit : (a) A candidate for this examination must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st January, 2011, i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1979.
    (b) The upper age limit is relaxable as follows.
    (i) Upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
    (ii) Upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.
    (iii) Upto a maximum of ten years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped candidates.

    Educational Qualification : For admission to the examination a candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.A candidate who has appeared or has yet to appear at the final M.B.B.S. Examination may also apply.A candidate who has yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship is educationally eligible for admission to the examination but on selec ion he will be appointed only after he has completed the compulsory rotating internship.

    Physical and Medical Standards: Candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical/medical standards for the Combined Medical Services Examination 2011 as per regulations contained in Appendix III to the Rules of the Examination.

    If a candidate does not receive his admission certificate or any other communication regarding his candidature for the examination one month before the commencement of the examination, he should at once contact the Commission. On receipt of such a communication, Admission Certificate or a duplicate copy thereof will be issued to the admitted candidate. Information in this regard can also be obtained from the Facilitation Counter located in the Commissions office either in person or over phone Nos. 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543. In case no communication is received in the Commission’s office from the candidate regarding non-receipt of his admission certificate atleast 3 weeks before the examination, he himself will be solely responsible for non-receipt of his admission certificate. On the receipt of Admission certificate, candidates should check it carefully and bring discrepencies/errors if any, to the notice of UPSC immediately.

    FEE  (a) Candidates applying Online (excepting Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates who are exempted from payment of fee are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty only) either by remitting the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
    (b) Candidates applying Offline (through Common Application Form) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) through a single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp. Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (NOT postage stamps) may be obtained from the post office and affixed on the application form in the space provided therein. The stamp should be got cancelled from the issuing Post Office with the date stamp of the post office in such a manner that the impression of the cancellation mark partially overflows on the application form itself but with in the space provided on the form.     Eligibility:

    o    Candidate must have the certificate of Bachelor’s Degree by 31st August 2011 in the above metioned fields with 60% or above marks in Humanities and Social Science group and 65% or above marks in Medical, Engineering and Technology, Science and Agriculture Group.

    Indian Air Force will conduct Fast track Selection (FTS) for unmarried male and female graduates and engineers to join Flying (Pilot) Branch for Short Service Commission (SSC) course. Training will commence in Jan 2011.

    Qualifications:

    Age: 19 to 23 years as on 1 Jan 2011 (Born between 2 Jan 1988 and 1 Jan 1992 (Both dates inclusive).Upper age limit for candidates holding valid commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 25 years i.e. born between 2 Jan 1986 and 1 Jan 1992 (Both detes inclusive).

    Educational: Graduates in any discipline including BE/ BTech (4 yrs course) who have attained Minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together. All candidates applying must have passed Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level through regular schooling.All candidates would need to submit original/ provisional certificate and mark sheets latest by 15 December, 2010. failing which the candidature is liable to be cancelled.

    Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University invites application from eligible candidates to pursue MBA (Full, Part-time) and PhD programme in Management.

    Programmes, Duration and Seats:

    • PhD (Management) Not more than 20 seats
    • MBA (Full Time) 2-year and 226 seats
    • MBA in Management of Services (MS) 2-year
    • MBA (Part Time) 3–year and 232 seats
    • MBA (PT) Health Care Administration (HCA) (only through interview) 3-year and 42 seats
    Eligibility:
    • Candidates applying for admission to the MBA full-time programme must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree programme after twelve years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines. The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows:
    Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences- 50% , Sciences- 55% , Mathematics or Statistics- 60%, Medicine, Engineering or Technology- 60%/ CGPA of at least 6 on a scale of 10  OR
    Post Graduate Degree or IInd Degree examination after 10+2+3scheme, securing at least 60%marks. Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility will be allowed only to candidates of the following categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH/CW).

    Qualifications:

    o    A Bachelor’s degree of a min. of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised university, in any discipline.

    o    Candidates who are in their final year Bachelor’s Degree Programme are not eligible to apply for admission to any of the Master’s Degree programmes, conducted by School of Health Systems Studies, i.e., Health Administration; Hospital Administration; Public Health in Social Epidemiology; and Public Health in Health Policy, Economics and Finance.

    o    Candidates applying for the Master in Habitat Policy and Practice should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences, with some inclination towards habitat related issues/sectors.

    o    Medical graduates should complete their internship on or before Saturday, June 10, 2011. Otherwise, their candidature/admission stands cancelled.

    Application Fee:
    Candidates applying through the online mode should pay Rs. 800 (if applying for one programme), Rs. 1600 (if applying for two programmes) and Rs. 2,400 (if applying for  three programmes) by submitting a prescribed challan to any branch of the State Bank of India (Download the Challan from the website). Note: SBI will charge Rs. 50 as their processing fee, which cannot be adjusted against the application fee. For candidates applying online, payment has to be made only through the SBI, and the payment challan has to be submitted to the Institute along with the Application Form. If payment is made via demand draft, pay order or any other mode, the application will be rejected and no communication to this effect will be sent to such candidates.
