    The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Special Class Railway Apprentices’ Examination, 2010 on 19th December, 2010 for recruitment to the Special Class Apprentices in the Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

    ELIGIBILITY:

    a. Age Limits: Not less than 17 years and not more than 21 years on 1st August, 2010. The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

    b. Educational Qualifications: Must have passed in the first or second division, the Intermediate or an equivalent Examination of a University or Board approved by the Government of India with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.

    c. Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in Appendix-ll of the Rules for the Special Class Railway Apprentices’ Examination, 10 published in the Gazette of India dated 28th August, 2010.

    HOW TO APPLY:

    a)    Candidates, who wish to apply offline, must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-Ill of the Notice published in the Employment News dated 28.08.2010) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20/- (Rupees Twenty only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC’s “FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL” over Telephone No,011-23389366/Fax No.011-23387310.

    b)   Candidates can also apply Online using the link http://www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed
    instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above mentioned Website. 

    ü FEE: .Candidates applying Offline (through Common Application Form) are required to pay a fee of Rs 50/ (Rupees Fifty only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only.

    ü Candidates applying Online are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs 25/- (Rupees Twenty Five only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

    ü All Female candidates/SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fee).

    Common Application Form: All offline applications must reach the “Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi -110069″ either by hand or by Post/ Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 27th September, 2010.However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote areas specified in the Notice published in the Employment News dated 28.08.2010, the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is 04th October, 2010.

     Online: The Online Applications can be filled upto 20th September, 2010 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.

    1. 1.    Postgraduate Programme in Rural Management (PGPRM 2011-13)

    PRM is a two-year fully residential postgraduate programme comprising four different segments – classroom, fieldwork, organisational understanding and management training. PRM is recognized as equivalent to Master’s Degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

    Eligibility: Graduates in any discipline with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education and having 50% (45% for SC/ ST/ PwD*) aggregate marks or an equivalent GPA

    1. 2.    Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM 2011)

    Specialisation:(a) Management of Collectives; (b) Agribusiness/Rural Marketing; (c) Natural Resources Management; (d) Development Management; (e) Micro-finance Management; (f) Governance and Livelihoods; (g) Rural Infrastructure and Services Management; and (h) Public Policy and Non-profit Management.
    Eligibility:(i) Postgraduation in any discipline with 55% marks, and 50% marks at graduation level (ii) PRM from IRMA (iii) Four-year professional degree (engineering, agricultural sciences etc.) with 60% marks and at least one year work experience. (iv) Five-year professional degree (medicine, veterinary science, architecture etc.) with 60% marks are eligible for admission to FPRM. SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates are eligible for 5% relaxation in the marks specified above.

    Fellowship: Every FPRM participant receives a fellowship of Rs. 14,000/- per month till they clear the Comprehensive Qualifying Examination and then Rs. 16,000/- per month and a contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- per year for a period of 4 years.
