Eligibility: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or Examination equivalent thereto as approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. Candidates should have separate minimum marks for Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category need only a pass in the Qualifying Examinations.

Selection:  Applications will be received online only for the management and NRI quota seats and separate rank list will be prepared for each. Any other mode of application shall not be entertained and will be rejected. Candidates to 50% of seats will be filled up by the Govt. from state merit and the remaining 50% of seats will be filled up by the management of the college of which 35% of total seats will be filled up from the rank list for management quota and 15% of the total seats will be filled up by the management from NON Resident India NRI quota rank list. BPT and B.Sc rank list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates for Physics, Chemistry, Biology put together at the final year of the qualifying examinations. The admission process to the PGP-BL programme will be conducted in multiple phases. Selection: The short-listed candidates will have to appear for a Personal Interaction. During the PI process the panel will evaluate each candidate's performance, on the basis of quality and nature of work experience, diversity, leadership qualities, social sensitivity, and multi-dimensionality etc. Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to think critically will be among the key attributes that the panel will also seek in candidates.

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), situated at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. IIST, established in 2007, functions as an autonomous institution under the Department of Space (DoS), Government of India. The MS-PhD Programme is offered to students with a graduate degree in any discipline of Science, Engineering or Medicine. The programme in its first year (1st and 2nd semester) provides extensive learning opportunities in the broad field of life sciences and biotechnology through rigorous classroom teaching and hands-on laboratory experiments. In the second year, the student is mostly required to work in a research laboratory under the supervision of a research guide in an area of mutual scientific interest, and submits a Master's dissertation at the end of the 4th semester. Based on the performance review of the student, he/she may be permitted to continue in the programme for pursuing the PhD thesis research in the same laboratory. At this stage, the student can also exercise his/her choice to exit the programme with a Master's degree on satisfactory completion of the course and dissertation requirements. 

Eligibility: Students with 60% aggregate marks (or an equivalent grade point average) in Bachelor's degree in any branch of Science, Engineering, or Medicine are eligible to apply for admission. Students from the SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and PwD categories shall be given a relaxation of 5% aggregate marks. Students in the final year of their qualifying degree programme are also eligible to apply provided that they produce a proof of having secured the required marks in their undergraduate degree programme at the time of admission to the MS-PhD Programme. 

Selection: Eligible students are required to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology (GAT-B). Shortlisted students based on their performance in the GAT-B, shall be invited for an interview and their subsequent selection to the MS-PhD Programme will be based on the performance in the interview. The interview is meant to assess the student for his/her aptitude and interest in a career in scientific research and development. Applications are invited  from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. for the Academic Year 2023-24 at National Institute of Immunology (NII), An autonomous research institute of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India New Delhi. Cutting-edge research at NII encompasses broad interdisciplinary areas of Immunology, Infectious and Chronic Disease Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology and Computational Biology. 

Eligibility : Candidates should have  M.Sc. in any branch of Science (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics) M.Tech., M.B.B.S., M.VSc., M.Pharm., Integrated M.Sc., or equivalent qualification as per the norms of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Candidates should have At least 60% aggregate score or equivalent grade in Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) and Bachelor’s degree and 55% aggregate score or equivalent grade in Master’s degree are essential for the general category.

Five percent relaxation in aggregate scores in Senior Secondary, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees will be applicable for candidates from the reserved categories [(OBC (non-creamy layer; NCL), SC/ST, PwD and EWS]. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country.

For Academic Session 2023-24, it has been decided that the JEE (Main) – 2023 will be conducted in two Sessions i.e. Session 1 (January 2023) and Session 2 (April 2023). JEE (Main) - 2023 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. 

Mode of Examination JEE (Main) - 2023 will be conducted in the this modes: 1) Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) is  Computer Based Test (CBT)  only. 2) Paper 2A (B. Arch): Mathematics (Part-I) and Aptitude Test (Part-II) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only and Drawing Test (Part-III) in pen and paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on a drawing sheet of A4 size. 3) Paper 2B (B. Planning): Mathematics (Part-I), Aptitude Test (Part-II), and Planning-Based Questions (Part-III) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode only. 

Eligibility : The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) - 2023 examination.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has invited applications for admission to the Five Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), 2022-27.The Programme seeks to attract young students and mould them as outstanding leaders, through world-class education.

Eligibility: Applicant should have been born on or after August 1, 2002 (5 years’ relaxation to those from SC/ST/PwD category- born on or after August 1, 1997).

Applicant should have passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examination in 2020, 2021 or should be appearing in 2022.

Those who have passed standard X/ SSC or equivalent course in 2019 or before should have a minimum of 60% marks in standard X/ SSC (55 % for the candidates from SC/ST/ PwD category). Those who have passed standard X/ SSC or equivalent in 2020 need only a pass in standard X/ SSC. For standard XII/ HSC or equivalent, the applicant should have passed the standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examination.

Those who are likely to complete standard XII/ HSC or equivalent by the end of July 31, 2022, can also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned above.

Registration for the Test can be done  latest by May 21, 2022. Application fee of Rs. 4,130/- (Rs. 2,065/- for SC/ST/PwD category candidates) can be paid online.

Selection will be on the basis of overall performance in the Aptitude Test (AT) and Personal Interview (PI). Based on the applications received, those satisfying minimum eligibility criteria will be called for the Aptitude Test (AT) to be conducted at centres across the country from 10 am to 12 noon on July 2, 2022 (Saturday). The test will have three sections - Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA) and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ) with each section, of 40 minutes duration. Candidates must answer the sections in a pre-specified order and this order will remain the same for all the candidates. Each question carries 4 marks. There will be 1 negative mark for each wrong answer except for Quantitative Ability (SA) Section. The procedure for Computation of Aptitude Test Score (ATS) is given in the Guidelines.

Candidates having positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three sections of the Aptitude Test will be called for a Personal Interview. The minimum cut off mark in each section will be decided by the Admissions Committee.

The final composite score will be computed by giving the weight of 65 for Aptitude Test Score (ATS) and 35 for the Personal Interview (PI). The Sanctioned intake for IPM 2022 batch (Domestic Applicant) is 150.

Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Thycaud Post, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 014, has invited application for admission to the PhD program April 2022 session in various domains of disease biology and plant science.

Eligibility: Applicant should hold a Post-graduate degree in Life/ Agricultural/ Environmental/ Veterinary/ Pharmaceutical/ Medical Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Chemistry/ Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade B in the UGC 10-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale where ever grade system is followed) or an equivalent from a foreign educational institution. SC/ST/Differently abled candidates need only 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade point in the qualifying examination.

Applicants must have a valid JRF Fellowship (UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/DST-INSPIRE/or any other nationally-competitive fellowship offered by the Government having a valid fellowship for a period of 5 years.

Upper age limit is 26 years as on December, 2022. Age limit will be relaxed for SC/ST/Physically challenged candidates as per Government of India regulations.

RGCB is currently affiliated to the University of Kerala, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Regional Centre for Biotechnology and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). Registration of the selected candidates will be as per the guidelines issued by these Universities for the award of PhD degrees.

Selection: Applicants will be shortlisted based on the academic performance and performance in the national level tests. PhD interviews may be held online.

Eligibility: Applicant should hold M.A./M.Sc./B.Tech./M.Tech. /BS (IISc, IISER)/BS-MS (IISER) or equivalent degree in appropriate branches with at least 55% marks or 5.5 CPI marks in. This eligibility criterion is minimum at Institute level. 

The disciplines may use higher cut off levels for short listing besides giving due consideration to the way questions are application form. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD categories would be eligible for relaxations, as per norms, in the selection criteria.

Admission is generally offered on the basis of an interview, which is supplemented by a written test if necessary. The Institute will invite a limited number of candidates for a written test and/or interview based on the academic records, statement of purpose, etc. The final selection will be mainly based on academic credentials, written test and/or interview.

National Board of Examinations (NBE) has commenced the registration process for Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) June 2022. Eligible candidates can apply for the examination on the official website  till April 4, 2022.

Applicants will be able to edit their applications from April 8 to 12, 2022. The admit card will be released on May 27, 2022. FMGE 2022 will be conducted on June 4 and the result will be declared on June 30, 2022.

Eligibility : The candidate should possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated.Candidates who fail to submit the documents as prescribed in the Information Bulletin for FMGE will not be allowed to appear in the examination and would be declared ineligible to appear, reads the notice. 

Applicants are required to pay the examination fee of Rs 7080 (Rs 6000+Rs 1080 GST).

Kozhikode: An online SSC awareness session was held by the CIGI Competency department on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, as part of the Free SSC Mentorship campaign. The CIGI Competency Trainer, Mr. Shanavas Thoppil, led the session. Eighty applicants attended the session. The intern, Ms. Farhana Sherin, gave the welcome address. The competency department's director, Mr. Husain P. A. Presidential, introduced the CIGI and talked about the Free SSC Mentorship Program during his lecture.

Kozhikode: On Sunday, March 24, 2024, the Centre for Competency Development conducted a mock PSC exam across several districts in Kerala. The test was conducted under the supervision of the relevant district authority. In their respective districts, more than a hundred students took part in and successfully completed the mock exam. test was held at about 18 centers across several districts. The test was overseen by department director Abdul Muneer K, Co-director Ms. Nisha M. M., and Coordinator Mrs.Sheza.

Kozhikode: Prominent author and trainer Dr. N.P. Hafiz Muhammed has emphasized the need for trainers to be democratic and creative. He was addressing the faculties of the CIGI Summer Festival, which will be held in various parts of Kerala from April 15 to May 15. He said that only creative trainers can survive in society. The faculty workshop was held at CIGI Campus, Chevayur, on 24th March 2024.

What is C DAT?

CIGI Differential Aptitude Test (C-DAT) is one of the most successful and sensational inventions by our Faculty of Research and Analysis. Came into being in 2008 after running standardisation tests in over 4000 students comprising both high school and higher secondary,  it soon developed to become one of the best of its kind in the country.

Significance of C-DAT

Choosing a career option that suits one's skills and interests is necessary for smooth sailing in professional life. Disinterest in a career can cause many problems that can even cause psychological distress like depression so it is indeed essential to ensure the profession corresponds with passion. WHAT IS A CENTRE FOR COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT

Centre for Competency Development is an innovative project established as a part of celebrating CIGI's  two decades of meaningful intervention in empowering the weaker segments of society. In 2016 CIGI took the initiative to set up 100 Centres for Competency Development (Mission 100C4C) at grassroots level in various parts of the state. The idea of Mission 100C4C is an end result of deliberations and constant dialogues among think tanks of CIGI on lack of competence in students and job seekers from all streams who are pursuing their higher studies or looking for a job.

The project was built on a belief that the accomplishment of this mission would provide a solution for this affecting condition and lead to a massive transformation in the current occupational and educational state of the community.  By 2019, CIGI successfully completed this mission of implementing 100 centres and the project is still continuing through various activities for developing competence among the community.  

 A Centre for Competition instituted under C4C is basically an independent centre accredited to and monitored by CIGI and is envisioned to enhance the competency of students, nurture their talent, develop their skills, and direct them in their pursuit of better life and career. 

As the pandemic swept through the globe, we decided to create a novel model of competency development through ‘C-Circle’s (Competency Circles’. The C-Cirlce’s are WhatsApp based online groups through which regular aspirants are prepared to face competitive examinations. This is done through regular updates of study materials and daily, week and monthly tests.

Started in 2020, our mission was, ‘1000 C-Circles’ , which was accomplished in a short span of time with people from across the state joining this initiative.

CENTRE FOR COMPETITIONS (C4C Centres)

WHO CAN ACCREDIT AS A CENTRE FOR COMPETITIONS?

 Any local chapter of CIGI, Colleges, Schools, Orphanages, Panchayats, NGO’s or any similar institutes can apply to get accredited as a Centre for Competition under the project, Competency Movement.  Interested institutes/organisations have to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CIGI to operate the centre. The project works with the objective to examine the academic personal and career excellence of young aspirants aiming at ensuring general competency development of those with qualification of 10th or above.  Any institutions that meet the requirements mentioned below are eligible to accredit as a Centre for Competitions under the project:

1. An office space (preferably with internet connection)
2. Class Rooms/ Training Hall (preferably with Audio Visual Equipments
3. Co-ordinator (Full time/Part Time)
4. Committee to supervise the centre

Career counselling is a part of behavioural science. It is the process of helping the candidates to select a course of study that may help them to get into a solid profession. A career counsellor helps the candidates to get into the career that is best suited to their aptitude, personality, interest and skills. So it is the process of making an effective correlation between the internal psychology of a candidate with the external factors of employability and courses.

 This discipline is intended to help our younger generation to cope up with ups and downs of life in such a way that they attain positive mental health, self sufficiency, productivity, efficiency, and also create their own position in the world of work. The course contains principles, concepts, and theories of social importance for career development. It also nurtures practical insight about guiding the younger generation towards the pursuits of excellence.

Since 2020, an online version of the course is also available. Run through CIGI Learning Management System (LMS), this allows students from across the globe to access this course.

What is it about?

 No child should be denied the equality in education and the opportunities it provides, because of factors far beyond their control. Our constitution ensures equality in all areas to all law abiding citizens, education being the most important of all. There are students who face problems in learning and they are not equally accepted most of the time. They are mistreated in the classrooms and their problems are left unsolved. It is clear that just as there are ramps built at strategic locations for the benefit of the physically handicapped, invisible ramps of support should be provided for the learning disabled to overcome their invisible handicap.

Studies show that every classroom is likely to have two or three children with learning disabilities. Moreover, many of these special children are likely to have more than one learning disability (LD). The most common learning disabilities in classrooms are dyslexia (the inability to read or interpret lessons and symbols), autism (a neurological disorder in which the child has poor social skills) and attention-deficit hyperactive disorder. CIGI is here to provide support and help to the students in need. Our Learning Clinic established in 2015 is designed exclusively for children with learning disabilities.

Significance of the Project:

 In India, the LD movement is nascent with schools and education boards having made concessions for LD students less than a decade back. Popular Indian schools, even those in well developed cities such as Mumbai, still lack adequate special teachers to handle such children in classrooms. Experts working in the field also complain that the idea of inclusion - including children with LD in classrooms with other children who don't have LD - isn't being implemented in its true spirit. LD children still lose out, especially when they enter the critical Grade IX. According to directives to promote all children to the next class till Grade VIII, most children with LD manage to reach higher classes. But many of them are asked to leave the school in Grade IX due to poor scholastic performance. Thus clinical support for children with LD has become a necessity. But the clinics proving LD care are very few to count. CIGI makes sure no student is left unnoticed or unguided as we are here with solutions to all such problems helping you to identify and solve the disabilities as well as  provide with proper guidance.

Number of failed marriages is increasing day by day. What could be the possible reasons for unhappy marriages and increasing divorces? There can be many. But one of the major red flags in any relationship is the lack of understanding. Marriage is a huge step in every individual’s life. Married life is of course not a bed of roses, it has all the complications that come along when two people from two different backgrounds, having diverse tastes come together as a couple. This mutual settlement demands a great deal of patience, understanding, adjustment and commitment from both sides.

Here arises the relevance of premarital counselling. CIGI Premarital Counselling is a form of couples therapy that can help you and your fiancé prepare for marriage. This will reduce friction in married life and help in better understanding between the spouses. Our Pre-Marital Counselling Wing will help you have a better awareness of marital life before stepping into the path together.

2. FAMILY COUNSELLING

Lack of communication and commitment among blood relations is a common flaw of today's generation. People are shrinking into a world of their own which would eventually lead to fractures in family relations. The students who fail in public examination are reported with the onset of any unnoticed cognitive, behavioural or learning disorders. Either the disorders or the environment in which they were brought up lead to the failures. We believe that those students who fail in 10th exams are not the ones who are innately unable to pass the examination; rather it is a result of negligence in identifying their learning disorders at an early stage.

CIGI has set up a Learning Clinic and its main focal area is to help the children with difficulties in learning. We have a good resource pool containing clinical psychologists, counsellors, special educators, trainers etc. The project is a remedial learning process headed and executed by specialists in learning.

Methodology followed:

What is C-iDea?

C-iDea (Integrated Development for Excellence in Academics) is the novel initiative by CIGI-C4C.  Aim of this project is to identify talented students from the upper primary level amongst the marginalised segment and mould, develop and empower them to get admission in premier institutions like AIIMS, IIT, IIM, and Central Universities; and thus better equipping them to be partners in nation building. There are many students in the lower strata of society who are forced to give up their dreams owing to their financial condition. CIGI is here to support students with dreams and aspirations . This project is specifically designed to stimulate motivational enzymes in the students especially from the impoverished community to discover life skills that helps them blossom into secure and confident careers and in a way grooms the students to take up leadership positions.

Why C-iDea?

C-iDea project focuses on empowerment and up-gradation in the educational sector with a hope to  create a new generation of enlightened graduates from prestigious institutions of different disciplines. Currently, Kerala is lagging behind other states in the percentage of students who get enrolled in premium institutions/ institutes of national importance. The project C-iDea helps students to reach their  ambition through improving the quality of education by creating a platform and thus help in bringing out the natural potential in them. C-iDea gives special attention to students, thus helping to bring out the best in them.

How is it done?

The selection process of the students will be on the basis of the CIGI talent search examination followed by training and counselling. For the first year the examination was conducted mainly in four districts of Northern Kerala, such as Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Malappuram. Through this process, 2 Centres will be formed in each district with 40 students in each of them. The first batch of the C-iDea project comprises 320 students.

Methodology of the project

The total programme of C-iDea is divided into three phases and the duration of the project is 7 years.

The required conditions to accredit as a Centre for C-iDea Project:

1. An office space (preferably with internet connection)
2. Class Rooms/ Training Hall: 40 seating (with Audio-Visual Equipments and internet connection for online classes)
3. Co-ordinator (Full time/Part Time and remuneration is provided if required)
4. Centre Head and Committee to supervise the centre

• Coordinating screening test (Talent Search Examination)
• Ensuring the participation of students in talent search examinations.
• Providing facilities and manpower for conducting talent search examinations.
• Valuation of answer sheets (OMR).

What is Project Infinity?

Project Infinity is an initiation from the part of CIGI with an intention to instil scientific interests in school children as a means to inspire and guide them to pursue a profession in science education and research. We envision the creation of more scientists like our founder Dr. KM Abubacker, who was a senior scientist at BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre), serving our nation remarkably all through his life.
